About

LindsayThe Town & Bridge ActivAge Project has been awarded funding through the Age Concern ‘fit as a fiddle’ programme, funded by the Big Lottery, to improve the health and wellbeing of people aged 45 years plus who live in the Town Centre and Stoke area of Ipswich.

ActivAge Project Co-ordinator, Lindsay Bennett (right), welcomes you to the ‘fit as a fiddle’ programme.

Why do we need a programme like ActivAge?

- Because by 2020 over half the adults in the UK will be over 50
- Because inactivity increases with age
- Because we want to encourage adults aged 45 & over to take more physical activity and eat the right kinds of food

We all know that healthy eating and a physically active lifestyle can bring many benefits throughout life. This becomes even more important for people in the 50+ age bracket as this is when the benefits can be most relevant in avoiding, minimising and in some cases reversing many of the physical, psychological and social problems that may accompany advancing age.
