Pond Construction Course
WEDNESDAYS 18 April to 9 May 2012
10am to 12 noon & 12.30pm to 2.30pm
A chance to learn in a friendly, working environment. The course will involve building a pond for our new Bee Garden, as well as planting up our new pond at the People’s Community Garden and learning how to maintain and manage it – especially for the benefit of wildlife
Led by Horticultural Site Co-ordinator Steven Phipps. Topics will include:
Site considerations, setting out and levelling, excavating, lining, establishing levels for different plants and wildlife habitats, plant selection, creating wildlife habitats, maintenance and much more
On completion of the course you will receive a PCG certificate of accomplishment
Tools and materials provided. Please wear outdoor clothes appropriate for the weather and sturdy boots, preferably steel toe-capped (we have boots to lend). Bring a packed lunch – tea & coffee is provided.

Cost: £30 or £5 per session – this is waived on proof of receipt of means tested benefit or low income.
