Be Well Course for budding Volunteers

The Town & Bridge Project is running another ‘Always Personal – Always Professional’ free three 3-day course to inform people about the responsibilities of being a volunteer, how you can become a Be Well health mentor for the Town & Bridge Project and find out about other opportunities in volunteering in Ipswich.

Funded by Ipswich Borough Council, the Be Well Course will look at what health mentoring & volunteering involves, communication & listening skills, confidentiality, discrimination, the benefits and how people can help others in the community. There will be an opportunity to meet other organisations and hear about their services and opportunities in volunteering.

Julie Stokes, Chief Officer said, ‘ If you are thinking about volunteering and would like to find out more about what that means, then please book your place on the course. The Town & Bridge Project want to recruit volunteers to help spread the word amongst their friends, neighbours and family about being well and active. The course will give people more confidence to help motivate and support those people in the community who find it difficult to join groups, knowledge about other local organisations and their services and opportunities for learning and volunteering.’

The course will be fun, interactive and informative. The next course is on Thursday 2nd June, 9th June & 30th June from 10am – 3pm (including a free lunch) at ICVS, 1 Cornhill, Ipswich.

If you would like more information and to book a place, please contact Julie.
