Smoke Free Lives
If you want to stop smoking, but need some help and support, the Town & Bridge Project can help you find 1-1 sessions, a local support group or you could attend one of the projects support sessions held in the Town Centre or Stoke areas of Ipswich. All sessions are run with qualified Suffolk Stop Smoking Service Advisors.
Suffolk Stop Smoking Service
The Suffolk Stop Smoking Service aims to help those who wish to stop smoking by offering support and access to treatment (nicotine replacement therapy, Zyban or Champix). Research has shown that an individual is four times more likely to quit successfully if they get support and use treatment.
The Suffolk Stop Smoking Service offers group based clinics in a number of venues around the county, sessions are weekly for 7 weeks. Individuals will access their treatment through their GP on prescription, with support from the service. A one to one service is also available; this may be run by the practice nurse in a GP surgery. These nurses are trained and supported by the Suffolk Stop Smoking Service.
Current venues in Ipswich for Stop Smoking Support sessions:
Mondays St Clements Hospital, Ipswich – Evening Group
Tuesdays Ipswich Town Football Club – Evening Group
Wednesdays Ipswich Hospital – 1-1 appointments available during the day
To attend one of these clinics you need to ask your GP to refer you or contact the Suffolk Stop Smoking Service.
